Lady Owls 15th After Round 1 at NAIA Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. – After a 24-hour delay, Oregon Tech finally took the course at the 2026 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships, with the Lady Owls sitting alone in 15th-place in the 30-team field after Round 1 at Eagle Crest Golf Club.

OIT sits directly on the cut-line after a first-round 316 – 15 strokes behind team leader Dalton State – with the Owls three shots clear of 16th-place Rocky Mountain. The Top-15 teams and ties after 36 holes advance to Friday’s final round.

Both Madie Hepner and Madison Dick led the way for Tech, each carding 5-over-par 77s, each sitting in a tie for 32nd-place in the 156-player field. Baylee Hodgman shot a 1-under-par 35 on her inward nine to finish at 9-over, as did Alyssa KauleinamokuSydney Dick rounded out the OIT competitors with a first-round 83.

“We got off to a bit of a rough start, but it was great to see several players battle back to post a good back-nine score,” said OIT head coach Dave Myers. “We are looking forward to bringing a good mindset to the course tomorrow morning.”

British Columbia’s Katherine Hao shot an even-par 72 to take the Day 1 lad, with five players tied at 2-over-par.

The Owls will be in the second grouping off of the tenth tee on Thursday, with the first of five threesomes beginning their round at 5:20 a.m. (PDT)
