High School Baseball

Henley 12, Mazama 0

Hayden Poore pitched a complete game and struck out seven batters to help clinch Henley’s fourth consecutive Skyline Conference championship. The game was scoreless until the second inning, when Ryan Douglas knocked in a run with a fielder’s choice, followed by a sacrifice fly and an RBI from Conner Shively. The Hornets added two more runs in the third, and eight in the fourth to trigger a mercy-rule finish in five innings. Jacoby Tacchini was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Corbin Hamilton finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Jonathan Ladner got Mazama’s only hit. The season series continues Friday with a doubleheader.

High School Softball

Henley 8, Mazama 6

The Hornets clinched their 15th consecutive Skyline Conference win with a win over league rival Mazama. Mazama got on the board in the first inning when Armeda Kirkpatrick and Bella Pena knocked in runs. Henley responded with four runs in the first with a single from Layli Segura and a three-run homer from Jillian Vickery. Henley held the lead until the top of the sixth inning when Reagan Holbrook reached on an erros, scoring a run, and tying the game 6-6. RBI’s from Segura and Hayden Higgins sealed the deal for Henley in the bottom half of the inning. Rylee Holingsworth earned the win in the circle, working 6.0 innings, allowing six hits, and nine strikeouts.

High School Golf

The Henley Girls golf team placed 2nd at the 4A State Championships at Eagle Crest Golf Resort in Redmond.

Individually, Klamath Union’s Jayla Warner placed 7th out of 66 golfers. On the boys’ side for Klamath Union, Sterling Soulier and Callahan Daniels placed 25th and 31st, respectively, out of 68 players.

Crosspoint Christian’s Davis Hartwell was the state runner-up at the 1A/2A/3A event at Tokatee Golf Club.

High School Track & Field

This weekend is the Skyline Conference championships at Phoenix High School.
