Beavers Men’s Basketball Outlasts Mountaineers 81-71 in Overtime

Corvallis, Ore – It took an extra period, but the Oregon State Beavers defeated Appalachian State 81-71 on Tuesday night. 

Jordan Pope led the charge for OSU pouring in a career-high 28 points while draining six triples. Tyler Bilodeau added 16 points with nine boards in the victory. Terence Harcum led the losing effort for the Mountaineers with 18 points.

In the first half, the Beavers defense held the Mountaineers scoreless for a three-minute stretch which resulted in OSU opening up an 11-point lead after 20 minutes.  The Beavs returned the favor by going over six minutes without a bucket in the second half, allowing Appalachian State to force overtime. 

In overtime, OSU opened up a seven-point lead early off of back-to-back turnovers by the Mountaineers and held on to win 81-71.

With the win, the Beavers improved to 3-0 and will hit the road for the first time this season to face Nebraska.
