Tax Season Is Not As Lucrative For Poor and Moderate Income Families

Klamath Falls, ORE– Oregon taxpayers have claimed nearly $1.6 billion of the record $5.61 billion tax revenue kicker this tax season – and with one month left to file taxes, those who are owed the money should claim it while they can!

 Oregon Center for Public Policy estimated the richest 100 Oregonians could average about $800,000 while The lowest income Oregonians will get $30, $60, and $90.

The Portland-based non-profit researched to expose issues facing low and moderate-income Oregonians and they found wealthier Oregonians could stand to receive hundreds of thousands more back than lower-income people who could get as little $50 as a rebate.

Free tax preparation services are available for low- to moderate-income taxpayers through several trusted programs.

The Oregon Taxpayer Advocate Office has compiled an interactive map of free tax preparation sites for 2024.

Appointments at these sites often fill up quickly, and sites may open, close, or change their hours over time, so some information on this map may be incomplete or out of date.
