Women in Local History
March 10, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Five Klamath County educators will be profiled in the annual Women in Local History program scheduled for March 10, at the Baldwin Hotel Museum, 31 Main Street in Klamath Falls.
The program will be given at noon, and again at 2 p.m. Admission is free, and open to anyone interested. The presentation is given in recognition of Women’s History Month.
Cindy DeRosier, a longtime teacher and curriculum director in Klamath Falls, is the only living educator who will be featured in the program.
Other names on the program include Isabelle Brixner Borgman, for whom Brixner Junior High School is named; Ruth Obenchain, a ranch woman who taught at Bly; Mary Uerlings, who briefly served as the first female superintendent in Klamath County; and Alice Applegate Peil (shown in photo), who taught at several different schools, including Plevna and Klamath County High School.
The program is sponsored jointly by the Klamath County Museum and the Klamath County Historical Society.
