On November 5, 2024, following a long-term investigation, the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (MADGE) team made contact with several individuals and a vehicle in Ashland, Oregon. These individuals were suspected of trafficking methamphetamine from California into Southern Oregon. After executing a search warrant on the involved vehicle, MADGE seized approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine.
Arrests Made:
- Gabriel Calderon, 42, of Madera, California
- Randall Banks, 62, of Sonora, California
Both men were lodged in the Jackson County Jail and face charges for Unlawful Delivery, Unlawful Manufacture, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
The MADGE team is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force focused on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations. Utilizing an intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach with prosecutorial support, MADGE operates in coordination with the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program.
The Oregon-Idaho HIDTA program, sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), provides critical resources to multi-agency initiatives like MADGE to combat drug trafficking and enhance public safety. The MADGE team includes members from the Medford Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Point Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office, Parole and Probation, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the FBI.
