Stork, Anderson help East grind out Shrine Game win

BAKER CITY, Ore. – During his time as Henley’s starting quarterback, Shaw Stork was known as someone who could deliver when called upon.

It should come as no surprise, then, that he scored the touchdown that gave his East team a lead they would not relinquish in the East-West Shrine All-Star Football Game Saturday.

The 3-yard scramble came with 6:09 remaining in the 3rd quarter, breaking a scoreless deadlock and setting up a successful 2-point conversion that gave the East an 8-0 lead.

Stork teamed up with a former rival–Mazama running back Trevor Anderson, who will continue his football career at Division III Linfield–to guide the East offense down the stretch. Their combined efforts earned them co-East MVP honors from the game’s broadcast team.

In his third Shrine Game appearance, Mazama head coach Vic Lease oversaw the East defense, which scored a 39-yard fumble return touchdown on the final play of the game to seal a 14-6 win.

Lease and the other Shrine Game coaches will now return to their respective programs, which can begin practicing August 14.
