Over 700 Lightning Strikes Tuesday Night

Medford, Ore. – The Forest Service is reminding residents to be vigilant with fire prevention. They are monitoring fire activity in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest after having over 700 lightning strikes Tuesday night. Firefighting resources responded to two new fires on the High Cascades Ranger District. Both were small and able to be put out quickly. Remember to thoroughly douse campfires, avoid parking over dry vegetation, and don’t allow your tow chains to drag on pavement.
