Oregon Tech Hosts CCC Softball Tournament
Postseason play gets underway this weekend as Oregon Tech hosts the Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament at Stilwell Stadium.
The tournament opens Friday morning at 9 a.m. with the University of British Columbia facing College of Idaho. The winner advances to take on Oregon Tech later that afternoon at 2 p.m. Championship play wraps up on Sunday.

Oregon Tech’s baseball team is also in postseason action this week, traveling to Lewiston, Idaho, for the conference tournament. The Hustlin’ Owls are set to face Bushnell on Friday at 11 a.m.
Both Oregon Tech golf teams turned in strong performances at their conference tournament, with the Hustlin’ and Lady Owls each finishing in third place.
Portland Fire Falls in Preseason Debut
In professional basketball, the Portland Fire, Oregon’s newest professional sports team, tipped off its preseason slate Wednesday night. The Fire fell to the Seattle Storm, 91–81, in their inaugural exhibition matchup.
