Henley 6, Junction City 1
The Henley Hornets earned a first-inning lead on an RBI double from Jacoby Tacchini and held a single-run lead until the fifth inning. After both teams left multiple runners in scoring position, the Hornets broke things open in the fifth with another RBI from Tacchini and an RBI single from Ian Meyer. Although Junction City plated a run in the bottom of the fifth, the Hornets tacked on two more in the sixth to strengthen the lead.
Corbin Hamilton earned the win on the mound with 4.0 innings pitched, allowing four hits, one run, and striking out five. Kaden Shafer took the loss, throwing 4.0 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out 10. Carson Siems was 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and three runs scored. Connor Shively joined Siems, Tacchini, and Meyer with multiple hits on the day.
Henley 9, Junction City 4
The Tigers got on the board early with RBI hits from Madix Waldrop and Brayden Rauschert, but Henley used a pivotal fifth inning to turn the tide and secure the sweep. Henley got infield hits from Connor Shively and Carson Siems, along with an RBI single from Jacoby Tacchini. The Hornets tied the game on a sacrifice fly from Corbin Hamilton before Cam Carpenter knocked in a pair with a single to make it 6-3 in their favor. Henley added three more runs in the sixth with RBI doubles from Siems and Derrick Cox.
Hayden Poore earned the win, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs. Connor Clift took the loss for Junction City, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing seven hits, six runs, and striking out five. Siems, Tacchini, and Hamilton all finished with multiple hits, including RBI doubles.
Klamath Union 10, Cottage Grove 0
PJ Safford tossed a complete game in the Pelicans’ mercy-rule win against the Lions.
It was scoreless until the third inning, when Tildon Coffman broke the tie with an RBI single, followed by a run scoring on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Aryson Swaim. The Pelicans added four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to trigger the mercy rule. Coffman finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Swaim added three RBIs on a 1-for-4 day. Safford earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing one hit and striking out nine.
Klamath Union 13, Cottage Grove 6
The Pelicans used 10 hits to score 13 runs in a rout. Klamath Union scored six runs in the second inning with RBI hits from Donovan Jones, PJ Safford, and Izak Barrillas, along with well-timed walks.
The Lions responded with two runs in the second and one each in the third and fourth. However, the wheels fell off in the sixth inning, as they issued seven walks, allowing the Pelicans to capitalize for five runs. Klamath Union added two insurance runs in the seventh.
Tildon Coffman earned the win, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing four hits while striking out four. Nikai Bridgens took the loss for Cottage Grove, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing seven hits, six runs, and striking out six.
Crosspoint Christian 21, Bonanza 5
The Warriors plated 11 runs in the first inning en route to a league victory. Bonanza committed 11 errors in the contest.
Nate Gibson led the way, going 3-for-4 with two triples and three RBIs. Wyatt Moyles added four RBIs on a 3-for-5 day. Wade Petrik earned the win, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing one hit. Zach Dagget took the loss, pitching 0.2 innings and allowing nine hits and 11 runs, though only two were earned.
Crosspoint Christian 17, Bonanza 2
The Warriors again jumped out early, scoring 10 runs in the first inning. Nate Gibson went 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs. Brody Toner also tripled, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Toner earned the win on the mound, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing two hits while striking out three. Chayce Underwood threw a complete game in the loss, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing 15 hits and 14 runs on more than 130 pitches.
Lost River 10, Glendale 1
Kyle Diaz threw a complete game as the Raiders defeated the Pirates. The offense scored in all but the seventh inning.
The Raiders opened scoring on a sacrifice fly from Kellen Dunlea and never relinquished the lead. Diaz pitched 7.0 innings with four strikeouts and also went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. He was supported by Colby Medeiros, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI, and Connor Guthrie, who went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Lost River 9, Glendale 3
Glendale struck first with a sacrifice fly from Jackson Pisan, but the Raiders responded with five runs in the second inning. Kellen Dunlea led off with a double, followed by a single from Parker Staunton. The inning continued with back-to-back-to-back doubles from Keagen Dunlea, Colby Medeiros, and Connor Guthrie. Lost River added runs in the third, fourth, and fifth to secure the win.
Drew McDonald earned the win with a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out five. Huntyr Rocha took the loss, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 13 hits, eight runs, and one strikeout.
The Dalles 5, Mazama 4
The Vikings got the tying run on base but fell in a nail-biter.
The Dalles scored first in the second inning after a leadoff double, followed by an RBI groundout from Chase Peterson. Mazama rallied for a run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Trailing 5-3 in the seventh, Kellan Lee singled to lead off, and Mason Snell later drove him in to cut the deficit to one, but that was as close as the Vikings would get.
Jayden Justice took the loss, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing three hits while striking out three. Gunner Bustos earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing six hits with three strikeouts.
Mazama 10, The Dalles 9
Mazama earned a walk-off win on an error. Will Hamilton hit a sharp ground ball that was mishandled, allowing the winning run to score.
The Dalles struck first with an RBI triple from Sawyer Dray and an RBI single from Gunner Bustos. Mazama responded with a five-run third inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Jonathan Ladner. The Riverhawks regained the lead in the sixth after a triple from Kale Beardmore and a double from Daylee Miller. Trailing 8-5 in the seventh, Mazama rallied with two outs to tie the game.
In the 10th, Bustos drove in another run for The Dalles. Mazama answered with a run-scoring double from Max Rodgers before Jace Feeback singled, setting up the game-ending error.
Kellan Lee earned the win, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing three hits while striking out three.
High School Softball
Henley 13, Lakeview 3
Lakeview struck first with an RBI single from Kami Vance, but Henley responded with five runs in the bottom of the first.
Henley collected 17 hits, nine for extra bases. Belle Birch hit her first home run of the season and finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Layli Segura went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Gracie White earned the win, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing three hits and one run.

Taylin Cox delivered the game-winning RBI in the fifth inning to trigger the mercy rule.
Mazama scored one run in both the first and third innings before erupting for eight in the fourth. The rally was highlighted by a three-run home run from Armeda Kirkpatrick, her second of the season. Belle Pena added a triple and three RBIs.
The two pitching staffs combined for 24 walks and nine hits. Shealeigh Butcher earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11.
High School Track & Field
Athletes from Klamath Union and Henley High Schools competed at the 5th Annual Phoenix Invitational on Saturday. As a team, the Henley boys earned the top spot with a total score of 139.5. The Klamath Union Boys finished fifth. On the girls’ side, the Lady Pelicans took the top prize with a combined score of 99. The Henley girls placed fifth. See individual finishes by clicking here.
