KLAMATH FALLS, Ore – The Klamath Falls Falcons (21-6-1; 11-2) shut out the South Medford Colts (6-9; 5-9) in a doubleheader at Kiger Stadium. Here is how each game unfolded…
GAME 1: Klamath Falls 10, South Medford 0
Kollin Tacchini pitched a complete game in a mercy-rule win, allowing one hit and striking out six batters.
A steady 15-hit attack for the Falcons led to the 10-run output. Tacchini picked up an RBI in the first inning, getting the first run across. The Falcons added five more runs with a two-RBI single from Conner Shively, with Tacchini, P.J. Safford, and Carson Pimley each knocking in a run.
Shively also added a two-RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning, invoking the mercy rule.
In total, Shively finished 3-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Tacchini was 2-2 with two RBI while Pimley, Corbin Hamilton, Safford, and Ryan Douglas also had RBI. Hamilton also extended his hitting streak to 17 games. Max Ihli picked up the only hit of the game for South Medford.
GAME 2: Klamath Falls 10, South Medford 0
The Falcons exploded for 10 first-inning runs, securing the season sweep of the South Medford Colts.
The Klamath Falls squad only needed six hits and was aided by three errors and five walks from the Colts to score their 10 runs. Jacoby Tacchini finished 2-2 with an RBI. Conner Shively was 1-3 with an RBI, with two runs scored, with P.J. Safford and Ian Meyer adding RBI and runs scored. Ryder White got the only hit for South Medford, going 1-2.
On the mound, Corbin Hamilton earned the win, pitching 3.1 innings without allowing a hit and striking out four batters. Hayden Poore finished the game for the Falcons, pitching the final 1.2 innings. Gunner Dale earned the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) in the first inning before being relieved by Max Ihli.

The South Medford Colts have an area doubleheader against Grants Pass on July 10th. The Falcons hit the road on July 9th to take on North Eugene in a single 9-inning game.
