Falcons Extend Win Streak to 7 Games Before Alaska Trip

The Klamath Falls Falcons picked up three wins over the weekend, extending their current winning streak to seven games. Here is how each game unfolded…

JUNE 21st GAME 1: Klamath Falls 15, South Medford 2

Kollin Tacchini knocked in a new single-game high seven RBI while going 4-5 with a home run at the plate to help the Falcons defeat the South Medford Colts.

Tacchini picked up his first RBI in the first inning when he knocked in Conner Shively. Tacchini would score later in the inning on a groundball from Carson Pimley. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, the Colts answered with a single run when Cole Johannes singled in Randy Patrick.

The Falcons scored four more runs in the second, with Tacchini contributing two on a single to center field. They added three more in the third, and one more in the fourth.

Max Price came in to pitch in relief, but would be the winning pitcher, closing out the final 3.1 innings of the game, allowing just one hit and no runs. The loss went to Monty Pepper, who only worked 1.0 inning, allowing five hits and seven runs.

Along with Tacchini’s season record-setting day, the Falcons got contributions from Conner Shively, who went 4-5 with two RBI and a double. Max Price was 3-5 with two RBI and three runs scored in the leadoff spot. For South Medford, Johannes and Oliver Ackley each had an RBI.

JUNE 21st GAME 2: Klamath Falls 12, South Medford 4

Carson Siems went 4-4 with a double and two RBI, as he led a 13-hit attack in the Falcons’ victory over the Colts.

South Medford struck first in the second inning, when Max Ihli doubled to left field, scoring Bridger Malespy. But facing a 1-0 deficit in the top of the third, the Falcons responded by scoring six runs in the frame. Conner Shively scored on a sacrifice fly from Jacoby Tacchini. Later, Siems singled up the middle to knock in Kollin Tacchini, and with two outs, Ryan Glidden singled in two runs.

The Falcons scored four more runs in the fourth inning when P.J. Safford singled to score two runs, Simes singled, scoring Safford, and Corbin Hamilton doubled, knocking in Siems.

Alongside Siems, Shively was 3-4, and K. Tacchini was 2-4 with two RBI. Safford and Glidden were each 1-2 with two RBI. South Medford only mustered four hits, with Oliver Ackley and Ihli picking up RBI.

Hamilton picked up the win on the hill, pitching 2.0 innings in relief without allowing a hit or run, while striking out two batters. The loss went to Ihli in his start, as he worked 2.2 innings, allowing seven hits and six runs.

JUNE 22nd: Klamath Falls 13, Roseburg 0

Hayden Poore and Ryan Glidden combined for a two-hit shutout on the mound, as Conner Shively collected seven RBI at the plate to power the Falcons ahead of the Roseburg Dr. Randol’s Crowns.

The Falcons took a 2-0 lead to the second inning, and added four runs in that frame as Shivley came up with a two-out single, knocking in Carson Siems and Ian Meyer. Jacoby Tacchini added two more runs on a single in the next at-bat, knocking in Shively and Max Price. The Falcons added two more runs in the third, two in the fifth, and three in the seventh.

Poore got the win for the Falcons, pitching 5.0 innings in the start and only allowing one hit. Jackson Tillet earned the loss for Roseburg, going 1.2 innings and allowing six hits and six runs.

Shively finished 3-4 with seven RBI (matching the new single-game high) and scored two runs. Price was 3-4 with four runs scored and an RBI, and Siems was 2-3 with three runs scored. Zeb Johnson had each of the two hits for the Crowns in the contest.
