High School Baseball

Crosspoint Christian 22, Bonanza 12

The Warriors capitalized on seven Antler errors to score 16 unearned runs. Davis Hartwell blasted two doubles on a 3-for-4 day with three RBIs and five runs scored. Wyatt Moyles was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Hartwell also got the win on the mound for Crosspoint Christian, working 2.0 innings without allowing a hit and striking out four batters.

Lost River 7, Glendale 2

The Raiders jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and never relinquished in a league win against the Pirates. Kyle Diaz, Miles Scott, Connor Guthrie, and Jacob Alvarado all had RBI hits in the inning. Colby Medeiros pitched a complete game for Lost River, allowing five hits and punching out 12 batters.

Hidden Valley 6, Mazama 0

The Mustangs pitching staff held Mazama to just three hits in Grants Pass on Tuesday. Hidden Valley’s consistent attack plated one run in the second, two in the third, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth. Jayden Justice suffered the loss on the mound, working 4.0 innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs while striking out four batters.

Phoenix 25, Klamath Union 9

The Pirates erased an 8-6 deficit in the fifth inning and piled on 16 more runs in the final innings to put a stamp on a Skyline Conference win. Klamath Union took the lead in the second inning, scoring five runs with RBIs from Nathan Ferns, Luis Meza-Bravo, Donovan Jones, PJ Safford, and Izak Barillas. Aryson Swaim also turned in a quality offensive day, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Swaim picked up the loss on the hill, working 4.0 middle innings, allowing four hits and five earned runs.

Henley 11, Cascade Christian 1

The Hornets pitched by committee for a combined two-hitter in a non-league matchup with the Challengers. Cascade Christian scored in the first inning, when Bryson Walker crossed on a wild pitch. Henley scored five runs in the second, and five more in the fourth, punctuated by an Ian Meyer three-run homer. The mercy rule was triggered in the fifth when Ryan Douglas scored on a passed ball. Conner Shively was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI double. Chase Barret was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Hunter Glidden earned the win, pitching 1.0 inning, allowing one run and two strikeouts.

High School Softball

Lost River 9, Glendale 7

Halle Buller hit a walk-off two-run homer to lift the Raiders over the Pirates. Lost River struck first in the first inning when Karla Navarro hit an RBI double. Glendale manufactured a late rally, tying the game in the seventh when Tera Mefford had an RBI single. Navarro walked to lead off the bottom of the seventh, then Buller ensured the home fans left happy. She finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored. She was helped by Navarro, who was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a home run. Peyton Guthrie was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Maci Medeiros got the win, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing five hits, five earned runs, and 13 strikeouts.

Hidden Valley 14, Mazama 4

Aidriana Orellana hit a ball in the infield to score a run in the fifth inning, capping off a four-run frame for the Mustangs as they secured a mercy-rule victory. Mazama took the lead in the first inning after Shealeigh Butcher singled and later scored on an error. Hidden Valley responded with a pair of their own and a six-run third to pull ahead. Addison Slezak was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Bella Pena was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
