Crosspoint Christian Earns League Sweep of Central Christian

Girls: Crosspoint Christian 38, Central Christian 37

The Crosspoint Christian Warriors (1-0; 8-1) outlasted the Central Christian Tigers (1-1; 6-1) with a pair of late free throws. Rylee Paulsen sank the foul shots with 2.5 seconds left in the contest.

A staunch defensive attack powered the Warriors, who disallowed a made field goal in the first quarter. Crosspoint carried a 19-15 advantage at halftime, but it was the Tigers who made the necessary halftime adjustments. In the fourth quarter, Central Christian outscored the Warriors 14-5, holding Crosspoint Christian to a single made field goal.

With seconds remaining and a one-point advantage, Crosspoint turned the ball over, leading to a Tigers bucket and lending them the lead. After Paulsen was fouled and made each of her late shots, Emmy Hogan stole the ensuing inbound pass and secured the win.

Paulsen finished with a game-high 19 points with five made triples. She also added two rebounds and five steals. She was helped by Kiera Mahan’s nine points, while Sy Serrano scored four points, Emmy Hogan and Hannah Langford each scored three, and Chloe Butlers scored one point.

Crosspoint handed the Tigers their first loss of the season.

Boys: Crosspoint Christian 66, Central Christian 35

Caden Moritz scored 22 points and added nine rebounds in the Crosspoint Christian Warriors’ (2-0; 8-2) first home win of 2026 against the Central Christian Tigers (0-2; 2-5).

Crosspoint Christian deployed an effective defensive scheme, holding the Tigers to only two points in the first quarter, and built a 26-13 halftime lead. As a team, Crosspoint collected 14 steals.

Along with Moritz leading the team in scoring, he was helped by Brock Throne, who scored nine points and added 11 boards. Trey Johnston scored eight points, Davis Hartwell added six, Dylan DeJong pitched in four, while Wade Petrik, Clayton Turnage, and Aiden Brewer had two each.

The Warriors are ranked #4 in the OSAA Coaches Polls and the OSAA Computer Rankings.

Chiloquin Panthers Maul North Lake; Queens Fall to Cowgirls

Girls: North Lake 47, Chiloquin 22

The Chiloquin Queens (0-2; 6-4) struggled to get going on offense in a lopsided loss to the North Lake Cowgirls (2-0; 9-2). The Queens didn’t score more than 10 points in any one quarter, and were led in scoring by Coley Miller with nine points.

Chiloquin was solid at the penalty stripe, knocking down eight of 10 attempts, and had 19 steals, but 36 turnovers hindered their chances.

In addition to Miller’s scoring, Tehya Brown and Rylan Borba scored six points, and Dejah Head added four, with three points from Xavah Hescock.

Boys: Chiloquin 71, North Lake 32

The Chiloquin Panthers (3-0; 9-2) used a balanced scoring attack to best the North Lake Cowboys (0-3; 0-11).

Three Panthers scored in double digits as Lalan Wilder paced the bunch with 11 points while Manny Ochoa and Edward Jones each added 10. Also, Dade Mitchell had none, Denver Bravo scored eight, along with Cole Miller. Danny Black scored five, Alex Plascencia had three, while Danny Black, Neo Parazoo, and JD Jayne each had two points.

The Panthers will put their three-game winning streak on the line at home against Bonanza on Thursday.

Henley Hornets Down 5A Eagle Point

The Henley Hornets (6-6) beat the Eagle Point Eagles (2-10) in a non-league game, 55-42. It was the second meeting between the teams this season, with a 69-62 Henley win on December 6th.

Henley took advantage of a cold shooting night for the Eagles, who could only muster 10 first-half points as Henley built the lead. The Eagles played even in the second half, but the Hornets’ lead was too much to overcome, allowing Henley to coast to a 4th quarter victory.

Henley was led in scoring by Carson Siems with 15 points. Rafa Pena scored 12 points while Brody Fullerton and Corbin Hamilton had seven. Kai Taylor added six points, while Micah Ibarra scored three.
