HELENA, Mont. – Jozie Ramos scored 23 points and added 11 rebounds, as Oregon Tech went wire-to-wire, dominating No. 16-ranked Carroll College, 73-63, in the final game of the Carroll Thanksgiving Classic.
The No. 21-ranked Lady Owls (4-4) snapped a 4-game losing streak – all against Top-25 opponents – converting 5-of-10 3-point baskets and making 48% percent of their field goal chances, while holding a convincing 39-30 rebound margin over the perennial NAIA power.
OIT got buckets from Brooke Anderson, Olivia Sprague and Tatum Schmerbach in an 8-0 run early in the contest to build a 13-5 first quarter lead, while Kendall Fealey hit a 3-pointer and a lay-up in a 13-3 run to start the second quarter, as Tech built a 29-12 advantage with 5:50 left in the half.
From there, the Owls kept the Fighting Saints (4-2) at bay – with the margin never falling below eight points the rest of the afternoon.
Sprague scored 13 points, Schmerbach had 12 and Anderson added 11 in the victory – capping a 5-game road trip, all against Top-25 opponents.
Willa Albrecht led Carroll with 18 points in the loss.
