A “God Sized Problem” is how David Wehr, Director of Admissions and Marketing at Crosspoint Christian School explained their need for expansion. He said that Crosspoint Christian is growing quickly and the need to expand is urgent to be able to grow responsibly.
When asked why this expansion is so important, Wehr replied with, “this expansion is critical for Crosspoint’s ability to continue fulfilling its mission. Enrollment is growing, and families are seeking a Christ-centered education that prepares students for college, careers, and life. Without additional space and resources, we risk limiting opportunities for students academically, spiritually, and socially.”
The school hopes to expand physically to provide the current students with more space to learn and be able to add additional students as enrollment at Crosspoint continues to grow and classroom size is getting closer and closer to capacity. One of the beautiful things about the school is the teacher to student ration, which usually sits somewhere around 12 students to one teacher.
Another thing Crosspoint does that sets the school apart from others, is that they have preschool students all the way through high school seniors on campus together. This creates a dynamic where the younger students look to the older students as role models, and the older students are held accountable by the younger students to set a good example.
However, it comes as no surprise that any type of expansion project comes with a price tag, and Crosspoint Christian School is looking to raise $1,000,000 to be able to start their project. You can go to crosspointchristian.org, to find many different ways you can contribute to the fundraiser and not all of them require a monetary donation. You can pledge commitment, can give a one time gift, recommend a grant, match gifts, or through an in-kind corporate sponsorship where services or materials are exchanged. Wehr also noted that prayers are always welcome for the upcoming expansion.
This expansion will directly impact the community through the lives of students. New facilities will enhance academic and extracurricular programs, provide additional space for worship and fellowship, and expand Crosspoint’s ability to serve families seeking Christ-centered education. And success isn’t new to Crosspoint, as 90% of their students achieve scores above the national average on standardized tests.
