KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech established a pair of school records in dominating fashion, as the No. 15-ranked Lady Owls opened the home schedule with a 110-72 victory over Park Gilbert in the Lithia Classic at Danny Miles Court.
The 110 points scored by OIT (3-0) was the fourth-highest scoring total in program history and the highest-scoring effort ever on their own floor. The Lady Owls finished with 33 assists on 43 made field goals – setting a new program record.
Six players scored in double-figures, including senior Olivia Sprague, posting 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in her first game in 379 days after missing last season due to injury.
The Buccaneers (2-4), from the Great Southwest Athletic Conference, took a 3-2 lead on an Allie Cummings 3-pointer, but Tech scored the next eight points and never took the foot off the throttle.
The Owls used a 13-2 run over a 7-minute stretch spanning the first two quarters, getting a triple from Brooke Anderson and two Avery Andrews lay-ups, extending the margin to 27-12 – pushing the lead to 56-40.
OIT reached 90 points for the 43rd time on a Jozie Ramos lay-in, scored 100 points on an Annie Campos triple – the 17th all-time 100-point game, while Andrews capped the game with a lay-up, as the Owls broke the 110-point barrier for the fourth time.
Ramos led the Lady Owls with 17 points, eight rebounds and a career-high five blocks, with Anderson scoring 15 points, with five rebounds and five assists – converting 6-of-7 field goals, including three 3-pointers. Andrews scored a career-high 14 points, Tatum Schmerbach had 11 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, with Chelsea Ching scoring 10.
The Lady Owls finished the night making 59% of their field goals (43-of-73) and made 9-of-12 3-pointers.
Park was led by Cummings, who scored 16, but the Bucs committed 25 turnovers and converted just 33% of their field goals.
OIT hits the road for their next five games – all against Top-25 teams, beginning Wednesday at the University of the Cumberlands in Florence, Ky.
