MEDFORD, Ore. – Alfie Snow scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead strike in the 68th-minute, as Carroll College topped Oregon Tech, 3-1, in the quarterfinals of the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Wheeler Field.

The No. 2-seeded Saints (13-2-2) advance to the semifinal round for the second-straight season, holding off a second half rally from the No. 7-seed Owls.

Snow opened the scoring just 40 seconds into the first half, as Sam Loughton took a long angled cross in the right corner and played a pass across the 6-yard-box that eluded OIT (7-6-5) keeper Harvey Bolland, finding the forward for a tap-in at the back post.

Tech picked up the pressure in the second half and capitalized on a wild bounce in the 66th minute to tie the score. Elias Castro made a run down the right side and was tackled inside the box, but the ball squirted off a defenders foot to an unmarked Moises Lopez Carillo, lining a 15-yard dart into the net to square the score.

Just 90 seconds later, Carroll answered, as miscommunication between the Owls backs and keeper on a clearance attempt gave Snow an open chance – slotting home the go-ahead goal. The Saints added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute, as Josiah Bibeau collected a loose ball just outside the box and lined a 25-yard left footed shot into the net.

Carroll had a 10-7 edge in shots and a 4-1 edge in corners. Saints keeper Juan Muniz Navarrete had two saves, with Bolland recording three for the Owls.

The loss ends the Owls season in the postseason – their ninth-straight playoff appearance.
