Shots Fired Investigation Leads to Arrest

On Monday, October 13, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Klamath County 911 received reports of gunshots heard in the 1500 block of Derby Street in Klamath Falls.
Deputies responded quickly and learned that a male subject, later identified as 32-year-old Germy George Byzewski of Klamath Falls, was possibly firing a handgun from the backyard of his residence in the 1500 block of Summers Ln, toward nearby properties. Deputies also determined Byzewski had an active felony warrant and was prohibited from possessing firearms.
The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) was activated and responded to assist. After a coordinated response, Byzewski was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Klamath County Jail on the following charges:
• Felon in Possession of a Weapon
• Unlawful Use of a Weapon
• Menacing
• Contempt of Court
• Parole Violation
The area of Summers Lane between Frieda Avenue and Shasta Way was affected for approximately five hours while this situation was safely resolved.
