KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech posted a 6-under-par score over today’s final 11 holes to erase a College of Idaho lead, as the Hustlin’ Owls claimed the team title at the Run-In at the Ranch at Running Y Resort.
OIT (296-286 – 582) got big performances from Cayson VanBeekum and Jack Tieman to outlast C of I (297-288 – 585) by three strokes, with the Yotes Carson King (71-69 – 140) posting seven birdies during his 3-under-par final round to earn medalist honors by two strokes.
The Hustlin’ Owls started the charge on the par-5 17th hole, as VanBeekum, Tieman and Grayson Moore each posted eagles – erasing a three stroke C of I lead – outlasting the Idaho side over the final nine holes.
VanBeekum (72-70 – 142) finished in a 3-way tie for second at 2-under-par with Bushnell’s Matt Forsyth (70-72 – 142) and C of I’s Lucas Rynearson (71-71 – 142), with Southern Oregon’s Ricky Reisner (74-69 – 143) in fifth.
Southern Oregon (301-289 – 590) placed third, ahead of first-round leader Bushnell (296-307 – 603) and Corban (306-300 – 606).
Each of the four remaining OIT players finished in the Top-20 – led by Tieman (75-71 – 146) in seventh-place. Issey Tanimura (75-73 – 148) took tenth, with Kade Bracken (74-77 – 151) in 12th and Moore (81-72 – 153) in 20th.
