Noble Powers Bonanza To Homecoming Win Against Tulelake

The Bonanza Antlers (1-3) celebrated Homecoming in style with a 64-36 win over the Tulelake Honkers (1-2).

Issac Noble was undeniable in this game. The junior carried the ball 21 times for 382 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught two touchdown passes for 80 total receiving yards. But the impact wasn’t limited to the offensive side of the ball. He also had 111 yards on special teams and two touchdowns, along with 13 tackles on defense, two sacks, and a fumble recovery.

Noble was helped by stellar supporting play from his Bonanza teammates. Sophomore Dominik Lamboy had 12 carries for 114 yards, and Kohl Jesperson completed 5/8 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns (each to Noble). On defense, Jacob Wierleske and Brandon Lee each had seven tackles, while Jameson Forrest added six takedowns.

The Honkers were led offensively by their star back, Max Robison, who had 10 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Garcia had six rushes worth 125 yards and a touchdown. As a team, Tulelake had 335 yards on 23 attempts. Jason Orr completed 8/10 passes for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This win is Bonanza’s first of the season, and it came just in time to start conference play. The Antlers open the league slate on the road against Illinois Valley on Friday Night. The Honkers also begin conference play next week on the road at Plumas Charter.

He was helped by Connor Guthrie with 45 yards and Kyle Diaz with 39. The Raiders will look to make it three straight wins when they visit Culver this week.
