Sky Lakes Launches Mobile Health Clinic to Expand Access to Care in Rural Communities

Klamath Falls, OR – Sky Lakes Medical Center is bringing healthcare on the road with the launch of its new Mobile Health Clinic, an innovative initiative designed to provide primary care services to community members who face barriers to accessing traditional hospital or clinic-based care.
The Mobile Health Clinic will debut at the Age Well Expo at the Senior Center on Tuesday, September 23, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 2045 Arthur Street, Klamath Falls. Providers will be on site offering flu vaccinations to attendees.
The Mobile Clinic will launch its regular schedule in October starting with the Beatty area on Wednesday, October 15 from 11:00am-3:00pm at the Beatty Community Center, located at 24199 Godowa Springs Rd, Beatty. Locations will expand in November with visits to Chiloquin and Merrill.
By utilizing a flexible “pop-up” service model, the mobile clinic will deliver essential medical services directly to those living outside of town and in other underserved areas. In partnership with Healthy Klamath, local stakeholders, and healthcare providers, the Mobile Health Consortium will provide a broad range of services to those in Chiloquin, Merrill, and Beatty.
The mobile clinic is more than just a temporary solution. Its mission is to reduce health disparities by meeting people where they are, connecting them with timely, appropriate care, and gathering community input to guide long-term service offerings.
“Too often, rural residents rely on the emergency department for routine or preventable conditions simply because other care isn’t available nearby,” said Dr. Stewart Decker, Sky Lakes Wellness Center Medical Director. “Our Mobile Health Clinic will help bridge that gap, providing care in a more accessible, sustainable way.”
Sky Lakes’ vision for the Mobile Health Clinic is not only to improve immediate access to care but also to strengthen long-term community resources by fostering collaboration across healthcare and community partners.
This project would not have come to fruition without the generous financial support of a grant from Cascade Health Alliance (CHA). Sky Lakes and CHA are both committed to reducing health disparities and improving access to care for rural residents. The Mobile Health Clinic is an investment in healthier Communities.
