KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech scored twice on set pieces in the first 25 minutes of the contest, as the Lady Owls completed a weekend sweep at home, toppling The Evergreen State College, 3-1.

OIT (6-1-1, 2-0 CCC) extended their win streak to four and completed a 5-match homestand with a 4-0-1 record.

The Owls dominated the run of play, posting a 19-4 shot advantage, while generating 10 corner kick chances – which led to a pair of goals.

Tech took the lead in the 20th minute, as Jaylee Curran played a corner kick from the left side into the middle of the 6-yard box. As the Geoducks (0-5, 0-2) tried to make a clearance, the header went straight into the goal – giving the Owls the lead.

Four minutes later, OIT executed a corner to perfection – as Curran played a ball to Raeah Raymondo, who made one touch and ripped a shot into the right corner of the net for her second goal of the season.

The visitors took advantage of a foul in the box late in the first half – with Izzy Widener converting from the penalty spot to cut the margin in half.

Two big second half plays put the game away for the Owls. In the 64th minute, OIT regained a 2-goal advantage, as Miranda Valle played a thru-ball to Claire Cowan, who converted a 1-on-1 chance for her team-leading third goal of the season. Cowan looked to make it 4-0 two minutes later, but was fouled on a breakaway – resulting in a red card that put the Geoducks down a player the rest of the day.

Ten different Lady Owls took shots on the day, with Kaelin Ness and Naaliyah Robinson each posting three shot attempts. Both Evergreen keepers, Anna Varela and Katie Gresham recording four saves.

OIT hits the road for five of their next six matches – including three straight – beginning next Friday at Southern Oregon.
