KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech exploded for three second half goals, as the Hustlin’ Owls ran their unbeaten streak to seven games, blanking The Evergreen State College, 3-0, at the OIT Soccer Field.

Tech (4-0-3, 2-0 CCC) had a 17-5 edge in shots on the day – making adjustments after the halftime break – to claim the key conference win. It marks the first time an OIT team has started a season unbeaten through seven contests.

The Owls had the best chance in the first half, as a foul in the penalty area gave Sylver Schweiger a chance from the spot. However, Geoducks (0-5, 0-2) keeper Thomas Cole guessed correctly, diving left to stop the attempt – helping his side get to the break with a 0-0 score.

OIT broke the stalemate with a 52nd minute combination – as Merrick Tambio played a thru-ball to Moises Lopez Carillo down the left side, who touched a ball back to the 18 to a waiting Reece Fletcher, who hammered a one-time strike into the left side of the net.

Evergreen had two great chances to tie the score in the 57th minute – as a 20-yard blast from Sage Scheuerell from the left side of the box was punched out by a diving Harvey Bolland and following a throw-in, Alejandro Gallegos laced a 25-yard shot off the crossbar.

The hosts regained momentum from there – as Fletcher had a header clang off the crossbar in 63rd minute, while seven minutes later, a defensive lapse by the Geoducks allowed Ben Bradshaw to collect a loose ball and slot home a quick touch in area. The Owls put the game away in the 85th minute, as Dalton Rideout touched home a feed from Elias Castro.

The Hustlin’ Owls held their seventh-straight opponent under 10 shot attempts, with Bolland making two saves for his fourth clean sheet.

Tech hits the road for their next three matches, beginning Friday at Southern Oregon.
