PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech held Warner Pacific to a .040 attack percentage, while capitalizing on 13 aces, as the Lady Owls snapped a 5-match losing streak with a 25-12, 25-20, 25-14 win inside C.C. Perry Gymnasium.
Lex Boccia recorded a team-high eight kills without an attack error, as OIT (7-6, 1-5 CCC) never trailed in the match.
The Owls dominated Set 1, as Lucy Boyd recorded three consecutive aces to open the contest, with Tech closing the period on a 12-1 run.
Set 2 was a balanced effort by the visitors, as Alexa Gugliotta had three of her six kills in the frame, with Boccia, Willow Jacobson and Boyd all adding two kills.
Boccia continued her big day in Set 3, hammering consecutive kills to jumpstart a 10-3 run that built the Owls a 19-11 lead.
Jacobson had six kills, with Boyd adding six kills, 20 assists and six aces in the victory. Libero Abigail Sorensen led all players with 17 digs.
The Knights (0-7, 0-6) were paced by Tayah-Anne Toa with eight kills.
OIT returns home next weekend, hosting No. 3-ranked Corban and Bushnell.
