PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Three first half goals gave Embry-Riddle an insurmountable lead, with the No. 17-ranked Eagles defense doing the rest in a 3-0 victory over Oregon Tech.
The Lady Owls (2-1) struggled against the relentless pressure, as ERAU finished the game with a 22-0 edge in total shots and a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Eagles (1-0) got early goals from Jamie Black and Kari Kasun – both off assists from Samantha Wright, while just before halftime, Molly Newlin scored to push the lead to three goals.
Tech keeper Emma Beavin, making her Lady Owls debut, made three saves in the loss.
OIT returns to the Basin for the next five games – beginning Thursday afternoon against Westcliff.
