Klamath County – Public Safety Futures Task Force – Call for Applications for Klamath County, OR

Commissioner Nichols is launching a focused and time-bound effort to reform and modernize how we fund and deliver public safety services—and we need your voice at the table.

The Public Safety Task Force, operating under the Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC), is a citizen-led working group that will explore funding models, service improvements, victim advocacy, and structural reform. We’re looking for residents who bring unique perspectives, local insight, and a willingness to think big.

Apply If You:

•    Live or work in Klamath County

•    Are willing to serve for up to a year

•    Can commit to monthly meetings and subcommittee work

•    Want to help shape public safety for the next generation

Areas of Focus:

•    Jail operations

•    Patrol and law enforcement

•    District Attorney and prosecution systems

•    Juvenile justice services

•    Community corrections and reentry support

•    Public trust, victim services, and structural efficiency

•    Budget planning and long-term funding strategies

Timeline: Recruitment begins now. Task force work will take place September 2025 until completion, culminating in a final report of recommendations to County leadership.
