Klamath County Fire District 1, in cooperation with the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office (OSFM), asks that you celebrate America’s independence responsibly. For answers to commonly asked questions about fireworks, please visit the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s webpage at www.oregon.gov and watch our Facebook page over the next several days.
Weather and dry conditions can lead to rapidly expanding fires caused by careless use of fireworks. The District urges you to only use legal fireworks and that they be used in a safe and careful manner. Fireworks that fly in the air, explode, or behave in an uncontrolled and unpredictable manner are not allowed in Oregon without the proper permit issued by OSFM.
To report the illegal use of fireworks contact your local law enforcement agency. Only call 911 if it is an emergency! For illegal fireworks within the City of Klamath Falls, contact the Klamath Falls Police Department and for reports outside city limits, contact the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.
