KLAMATH FALLS, Oregon – On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, law enforcement in Klamath Falls, Oregon, arrested 51-year-old Jason Edward LOWERY (51) on federal charges of possession and manufacturing of explosive devices.
The arrest followed an investigation by the Basin Inter-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET), which received information that LOWERY was manufacturing and selling homemade explosive devices in the area. BINET, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), obtained a federal arrest warrant for LOWERY, search warrants for his residence on Walnut Avenue, his business on Avalon Street, and his vehicle.
LOWERY was taken into custody without incident at his place of business. During the execution of the search warrants, authorities seized over two hundred (200) homemade explosive devices,
precursor materials for additional explosive device construction, firearms, several ounces of suspected methamphetamine and evidence of distribution of methamphetamine. The explosive devices ranged in size and weight, with one device being enhanced with metal fragmentation.
Due to the nature of the evidence, Pershing Way at Avalon Street was closed for several hours, and residents near LOWERY’s home were asked to vacate their properties while investigators
processed the scenes and removed hazardous devices and substances.
LOWERY was lodged at the Jackson County Jail in Medford, Oregon, awaiting an appearance in federal court. The investigation involved personnel from the Klamath Falls Police Department, Oregon State Police, Oregon State Police Explosives Unit, and the ATF.
No additional information is available at this time.
BINET is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles local drug trafficking organizations.
Residents of Klamath County are encouraged to report drug activity to the Klamath Falls Police Department Tip-Line at 541-883-5334.
