Falcons Wrap Homestand With A Win

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore – The Klamath Falls Falcons (6-2) scored in each of the final six innings to grab a non-league victory over the Post 58 Crushers (4-5), 8-5.

Post 58 scored the first runs of the game in the top of the third inning when they loaded the bases and Wade Bergdahl was hit by a pitch. Sawyer Enderle laid down a sacrifice bunt with the bases loaded, scoring Oliver Hunt on the squeeze, and Colton Conally scored from second on the same play. The Crushers added another run in the third on a single from Colson Swartz.

The Falcons responded by scoring a single run in the bottom of the inning on a fielder’s choice from Kollin Tacchini. Post 58 committed back-to-back errors to start the fourth, and the Falcons capitalized, scoring two runs on singles from Max Price and Conner Shively. Corbin Hamilton doubled in the fifth inning to score another run and tie the game, and they’d later take the lead in the sixth off a Tacchini double.

Colby Medeiros picked up his first win of the season on the mound, pitching the middle 3.0 innings, allowing three hits and a run while punching out two hitters. Wade Bergdahl earned the loss, working 1.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits. Hamilton picked up his first save of the summer, tossing 3.0 shutout innings to close the game.

Notables at the plate for the Falcons include Shively, who finished 2-5 with an RBI. Tacchini was 2-5 with a double, triple, two RBI, and two runs scored. P.J. Safford was 2-4 with two RBI.
