Klamath, Six Rivers national forests issue Boise Fire closure order

Yreka, Calif., August 16, 2024 — Due to activity on the Boise Fire, the Klamath National Forest and Six Rivers National Forest have issued a joint emergency closure order. This order is effective from August 16, 2024, through September 15, 2024.

Forest officials want to remind visitors that fire restrictions are in effect. Campfires and stove fires are restricted to those developed areas listed in the Exhibit A of the Forest Order located at https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd1198147.pdf.  Smoking, welding, and operating an internal combustion engine also have restrictions in place.
