WILSONVILLE, Ore – The Oregon School Activities Association honored Mazama softball player Margaret Pizano as the Athlete of the Week for May 6-12. The OSAA also selected the Henley baseball squad as May’s Team of the Month.
Margaret Pizano is a Junior on the Vikings (6-16; 3-13). Pizano earned recognition for her efforts in a double-header against Klamath Union to close the season on May 7th. Pizano hit three home runs on a 6-9 day, scoring eight runs and driving in 11 RBI across both games. Those two wins gave Mazama the season series win over Klamath Union three games to one.
This season has been stellar for Pizano, who leads her team in nearly every major offensive statistic. She leads the Vikings in batting average (.562), hits (27), home runs (6), and RBI (30).
