CORVALLIS, Ore. – Fresh off their third-straight Cascade Conference regular-season championship, Oregon Tech took two of the three weekly Cascade Conference awards, announced by the league office.
As a team, the Lady Owls were honored as the CCC Team of the Week, while Lexi Klum was honored as Player of the Week for a second-consecutive voting period.
Tech needed a sweep of College of Idaho to put themselves in position to claim the CCC crown, with the Owls taking all four games of the series with No. 20-ranked C of I – with the team benefitting from a pair of Eastern Oregon losses to win the league by two games. OIT ended the year 24-3 in CCC play, with the Owls a combined 50-4 over their last 54 CCC contests.
Klum, a senior from Tigard, was instrumental in the wins – going a combined 6-for-12 at the plate, scoring seven runs – adding three doubles and five RBI.
The Lady Owls will play host to the CCC Championships, presented by U.S. Bank – starting Friday at Stilwell Stadium. Tournament information will be released on Tuesday.
