Klamath Water Users Association board member testifies in congressional hearing

WASHINGTON – A congressional subcommittee heard testimony from Klamath Water Users Association board member Marc Staunton on Tuesday concerning a proposed federal regulation that would ban farming in wildlife refuges. 

Staunton, a fourth-generation farmer who lives near Malin, testified before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Oceans and Wildlife. He spoke in opposition to the proposed regulation, an update to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Biological Integrity, Diversity and Environmental Health (BIDEH) policy.
