BOCC Hears Case for In Person Voting

On January 31rst at the Klamath County Commissioners work session meeting, commissioners heard from several republican party members including now Candidate for position 1 on the commission, Rajeena Jackson, to advocate for an idea to ask Klamath County voters if they would like to return to in-person voting.

The question would be posed to voters in the November General election and would be only an advisory question similar to the question that was posed to Klamath County voters about becoming part of Idaho.

Commissioners listened intently to the ideas presented and suggested that they would like to hear from legal counsel and the county clerk before making any decisions about the question.

Oregon established vote-by-mail as the standard mechanism in 1998, making it the first state in the United States to conduct its elections exclusively by mail.
