Winter Weather Advisory For This Afternoon

Klamath Basin, ORE– This afternoon plan on slippery conditions.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Noon today until 4 pm this afternoon.

Forecasts are calling for a wintry mix of precipitation with periods of snow and freezing rain or sleet.

Total snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected with a coating of ice to make things fun.

This includes all of the Klamath Basin with portions of  Highways 39, 140, 62, 66, and 97 along with areas across the border into California.

It’s all expected to change to rain later in the day then back to a mix of rain and snow for your overnight.

Tomorrow is supposed to see temps in the 40s with gusty winds, so it will all melt with hopes that the city will make some continued progress in cleaning up the snow berms downtown, but today’s weather is expected to further delay cleanup.

Remember, as long as the snow berms are present, parallel parking rules are in effect for all areas where you would normally park diagonally and there are signs posted so you know for sure.
