Oregon Ducks Survive Battle with Huskies

Seattle, WA – Late heroics in a back and forth contest pushed Oregon over Washington 76-74 in a Pac-12 showdown. Jermaine Couisnard scored the game-winning layup with 12 seconds to go which sealed the win for the Ducks.

After trailing 36-30 at halftime, Oregon opened the second half with a 21-11 run that put the Ducks in front 51-47. The lead changed hands four times in the final three minutes. Oregon leaned on reliable free throw shooting down the stretch, having shot 76.9% on the night as opposed to 54.5% from Washington. Oregon also had a narrow edge on the glass, collecting 33 rebounds when the Huskies only had 30.

The Ducks were led in scoring by Jackson Shelstad who scored 17 points. Jermaine Couisnard added 16 and Kwame Evans Jr. notched 15 points in the victory. For Washington, Sahvir Wheeler scored 18 points, Keion Brooks Jr scored 16, and Wilhelm Breidenbach added 14.

With the win, Oregon improved to 11-3 overall and a 3-0 mark in conference play. They will face Washington State on Saturday.
