UPDATE – Tree Lighting Celebration Back On

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Just in time for the start of the Holiday season, a particular grinchy vandal has attempted to ruin the Christmas tree lighting for the Klamath Falls Downtown Association.   The tree was supposed to be lit as part of the Snow Flake Festival on Monday, but this week, a vandal climbed inside the tree and cut the wires forcing the City to cancel the tree lighting and send the tree out for refurbishment that won’t be completed until January.

The Downtown Association’s Crystal Besaw notified Mybasin.com of the cancelation during this morning’s interview with Rob, Melissa and Josh of the KLAD Wake Up Crew on KLAD saying, ” Unfortunately, I’m sure most of everybody has seen or heard that we had some vandalism done to the downtown tree. Unfortunately, the tree is inoperable for the season. And so the city did ask for us to cancel that event on Monday. We appreciate everyone we’ve had such an outpour of people wanting to donate trees and lights and everything. And we really appreciate all of that. And if there’s something we can work out, we will definitely reach out to people for that. But at this time, it is canceled at the moment.”

The Klamath Falls Downtown Association, in collaboration with the City of Klamath Falls, KLAD and other community organizations, is thrilled to announce the reinstatement of the Klamath Falls Tree Lighting event as a Holiday Community Gathering
