Fire Marshal Says, “FREE” Smoke Detectors For Those In Need

The Fire Marshal for Fire District One stopped by the KAGO studios yesterday and said, “As a Fire District, we don’t want anyone to have a fire.”  Fire Marshal Chad Tramp says winter time is a time when people are running heaters, water can be tough to get to due to snow and stagnant air can cause poor air quality. He stressed making sure your smoke detectors are up to date, and if you need a new one, “For people that need assistance, it’s not cheap to go buy a smoke detector at these places,” says Tramp, ” We have the ability through the state of Oregon through a program through the Oregon state fire marshalls office that they give us an allotted amount of smoke detectors that we can put out into the public, they just have to contact the fire district if you need one.”
