Lady Falcons 10U finishes third at Hobbit Tournament

Lady Falcons softball’s new 10U team is already contending for titles.

The team finished third at the Hobbit Tournament, a North American Fastpitch Association event, in Newberg last weekend. It was only their second time competing in a tournament.

The Lady Falcons went 2-2 at the Hobbit Tournament, winning their opening game over NW Cure before losing to the West Linn Lions and the eventual champion Wilsonville Wildcats. They beat MVP in the third place game.

Ali Zurbrugg pitched two complete games for the Lady Falcons, earning a win both times. Gracie Robatcek led the team with 2 RBI on the weekend and recorded the final out at second base on an assist from Bradi Burke in the third place game. Robatcek, Jennah Powers and Pyper Johnson shared the team lead with four runs scored in the tournament. Johnson and Hallie McGarva led the team with two walks each.

The Lady Falcons organization said it is still looking for players (age 8-10) and sponsors for the 10U team. Those with an interest in either category can contact Kaci Burke at 503-201-1049.
