The Epicenter hosts PBA Regional Tour event

The Professional Bowlers Association returned to Klamath Falls last weekend as part of the Northwest Regional Tour, holding a regular and PBA50 event at The Epicenter.

Lanndyn Carnate and Ramsey Basurto bowled perfect games in the regular division qualifying round Saturday, while defending champion Jake Peters won a roll-off with Tyler Cruz to advance to the final round Sunday.

Peters entered the final game of match play trailing Basurto by 127 pins for the lead. He recorded the first six strikes as Basurto faltered, putting him in position to win the event heading into the 10th frame. Peters knocked down nine pins on his first throw but missed the spare, allowing Basurto to clinch his second event title of the season and his career with a strike on his first throw.

The PBA50 event also came down to the last frame. Eric Adolphson entered the final game with a 64-pin lead over Clyde DeLoach, but DeLoach clawed his way back and found himself with an opportunity to win the event with a double in the 10th frame. He threw a strike on his first shot but failed to knock down the 7 pin on his second shot, giving Adolphson a chance to win his first PBA Regional Tour event in 34 years with a strike out. Adolphson’s first throw was a split, giving DeLoach his first career event title.

The next PBA Northwest Regional Tour event takes place at Westy’s Garden Lanes in Garden City, Idaho, Friday through Sunday.
