Update: Chiloquin Shooter Apprehended by Sheriff

Chiloquin OR– A scary situation in Chiloquin yesterday. The sheriff’s office responded to a report of a man shooting out vehicle windows and threatening residents. The first report came in at 2 PM with a second report at 4 PM. Within minutes more  911 calls came in about a man walking through Chiloquin occasionally firing at vehicles and buildings and pointing a rifle at people. The gunman was challenged by the Sheriff’s Office when he ran into the Williamson River and tried to swim to evade capture.  Brian Mason was located by his wet footprints. He was taken into custody after he had already changed into dry clothing. All “shelter in place” restrictions were lifted at 5:42 PM. Charges included Attempted Murder x 2, Menacing x 4, Unlawful Use of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Burglary I, Theft I, Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct.
