Aug 30th- The Day The Traffic Light Test Ends

Today is the day according to the City manager Jonathan Teichert. The summer sans traffic signals ends officially today. Now the City will evaluate accident data, public feedback, and not just a few emails, phone calls, and in-person comments collected over the summer about the Traffic Light test that was implemented downtown in response to 136 traffic accidents that were recorded at ten intersections in the downtown area from 2015 to 2020. Downtown Businesses and area residents decried the test saying it was dangerous and the cause of profit losses felt across a myriad of businesses this summer in the Klamath Falls downtown area. The next meeting of the City Council is scheduled for 7 PM on September 5th at 500 Klamath Ave.
