Klamath Falls, OR– They braved rain, dark of night and a gauntlet of flashing red and yellow lights to speak, and 17 people signed up and spoke at the meeting of the City Council last night. Dozens more packed the council chambers to hear them, just nine days before the test phase of the summer with no traffic lights downtown ends. City Manager Jonathan Teichert laid it all out before the public comment section of the meeting was opened saying, if you speak, they will listen, “Staff will then compile feedback received via emails, telephone calls, in-person meeting and discussion, social media analytics and survey results from business owners and citizens. This information will then be provided to city council with staff recommendations for a final decision which will be made during an open public meeting of the city council. The flashing signals will remain until the outcome is decided.” No date or agenda has been set for when the public meeting deciding the future of the traffic lights has been set yet. Residents can let City officials know there feeling s about the lights by emailing or calling City Councilors and Staff at the following links
