Monday at 7PM- Traffic lights or Stop Signs

On June 1 the city of Klamath Falls decided to switch 10 traffic lights to red and yellow flashing and turn off the pedestrian signals. They hoped to see a downtown turn in accidents  citing 136 traffic accidents from 2015 to 2020. That test will conclude on Aug 30th and the city officials will make the decision  to remove the lights and install stop signs to slow traffic  or restore the lights to normal operation. A recent poll says that as many as 90% of residents oppose the idea of removing the lights and many are expected  Monday night at 7 PM at the City Council meeting in council chambers at 500 Klamath Ave in downtown Klamath falls to air their opposition. KAGO will be there to tell you what happens.
