An online poll by The Herald and News shows an overwhelming amount of resistance to the Klamath Downtown traffic light test. Town officials kicked off the summer by switching 10 traffic lights downtown to flashing red and yellow lights in an effort to study what the downtown might look like without traffic lights. Social media has been a-light with negative comments on the light situation, and the online poll hosted by the newspaper says 89% of respondents say “Go back to the way it was, with lights turning red, yellow, green”. Residents are invited to speak in the public comments section to voice their opinion of the lights during this Monday August 21, 2023 at 7PM at the City Council meeting at 500 Klamath Avenue.
