Klamath Falls Little League advances in 50/70 Regionals

NOGALES, Ariz. – After finishing 0-4 in pool play at the 50/70 West Region Tournament, the Klamath Falls Little League needed help to keep their World Series hopes alive.

They got it.

Southern California beat Alaska 19-0 Monday night, putting Klamath Falls into the knockout stage. With Alaska sitting at 0-3 heading into their final game of pool play, Klamath Falls needed them to lose and allow at least nine runs to secure the tiebreaker.

Klamath Falls will be the No. 8 seed in the eight-team single-elimination tournament, which starts tonight and ends Thursday. Their first-round opponent, Hawaii, earned the No. 1 seed after finishing 4-0 in pool play and outscoring their opponents 49-7.

The winner of the tournament will be crowned West Region champion and earn a spot in the 2023 Intermediate 50/70 World Series, which runs from July 30 to August 6 in Livermore, Calif.
