The Modoc War of 1872-73 was waged in Southern Oregon near the current location of the Lava Beds National Monument. A tour of the battlefield site is narrated by David Curtis with host Ken Smith of Mybasin.com. Curtis is an archaeologist for Lava Beds National Monument. He has been working at the site for the past six years and documenting the many artifacts that remain at the site. The Klamath County Museum provided a daylong Saturday bus tour to various historical sites in remembrance of the 150th Anniversary of the Modoc War, concluding with Captain Jack’s Stronghold battlefield site.
