RV Fire Closes Highway 140 Near Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, ORE– In a late-day news release from Fire District #1 on Friday,   KAGO news learned of an RV fire on Highway 14o that shut down traffic on the highway for several hours approximately 10 Miles east of Klamath Falls.

The RV was apparently en route to Klamath Falls when smoke and flames were seen coming from the back tire area of the vehicle.

The driver pulled over and attempted to extinguish the flames but was unable to control the fire.

Klamath County Fire District #1, along with Bonanza Fire Department and Kingsley Field Fire Department battled the fire and while no injuries were reported, the vehicle was a total loss resulting in more than an estimated $250,000 in  losses.
