Oregon State Drops Contest in Tuscan



TUCSON. Ariz. – Darell Garretson threw for three touchdowns but the Beavers dropped a 49-28 contest on Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.

A driving Wildcats team was stopped in its tracks when Shawn Wilson grabbed his first career interception in the first quarter at the Oregon State two-yard line.

Trailing 28-0 at the half, Oregon State opened the third quarter with consecutive scoring drives. Garretson connected with Noah Togiai on a 15-yard strike to open the third quarter scoring, cutting the lead to 28-7.

Garretson’s second touchdown of the night came on the Beavers ensuing drive. With the ball on Arizona’s six-yard line, Isaiah Hodgins caught a quick strike from Garretson for his second touchdown of the year.

Timmy Hernandez nabbed his second touchdown of the year, and third of his career, to open the fourth quarter off a 15-yard pass from Garretson cutting the lead to 42-21 with 10:44 left.

Late in the fourth quarter Ryan Nall had a nifty catch and run for a 44-yard score, his eighth of the season. Nall moved to ninth all-time rushing in Oregon State history with his 95-yard effort on Friday, he currently sits at 2,133 rushing yards in his career.

Oregon State is back in action next Saturday, Nov. 18, against Arizona State for senior day. Kickoff is slated for noon PT.
